Spivey Hall (www.spiveyhall.org) is a 400-seat acoustically-superior performing venue on the campus of Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. It is the legacy of Walter and Emilie Spivey, who wanted to give something back to their community. Ground was broken in 1988, and the first performances were presented in 1991, to rave reviews from artists and concert-goers alike. In early 1992, the hall closed for three months for the installation of the final piece of Emilie Spivey's dream: a world-class pipe organ, built by Fratelli Ruffatti of Padua, Italy. The three-manual, 79-rank instrument has been hailed as a triumph by everyone who has played it. Spivey Hall and its Ruffatti organ hosted the 1998 and 2002 North American Rounds of the Calgary International Organ Festival and Competition.
